Masood Faisal Jhandir Research Library

Masood Jhandir Library is the largest private library in Pakistan. Located in the small village of Sardar Pur Jhandir in the Mailsi, Punjab province, it was established in 1899 by a scholar, poet, Malik Ghulam Muhammad (1865–1936). The library houses over 360,000 books. Renowned globally as a premier private reference library, Masood Jhandir Library holds significant importance. Recognizing its historical and cultural value, Chughtai Public Library has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to digitize the Jhandir Library. This project aims to preserve this invaluable knowledge heritage and enhance accessibility for a wider audience. Chughtai Public Library has deployed modern scanners and trained technical staff who are diligently digitizing the books on a regular basis, ensuring that this treasure trove of knowledge is preserved and made accessible to future generations. These are the collection of books from the Masood Jhandir Library. This diverse range provides valuable resources for research and learning in various fields.
