Idara Saqafat-e-Islamia Lahore

The Institute of Islamic Culture is an autonomous, non-governmental publishing and research organization dedicated to Islamic studies in Pakistan. It was established in Lahore in 1950 with the objective of promoting scholarly and research-based studies on various aspects of Islamic civilization and culture. The first Director of the Institute was Khalifa Abdul Hakim, a distinguished scholar who possessed profound expertise in both Western and European philosophy as well as Islamic philosophy. Great care was taken in selecting the Institute’s founding members, ensuring that they were accomplished scholars with mastery over both classical and modern disciplines. Over the decades, the Institute has published hundreds of books on Islamic and Pakistani culture, civilization, and the history of the Indian subcontinent. Through its scholarly publications and research activities, it has made a significant contribution to the intellectual and cultural life of Pakistan.
