Abstract: This collection comprises four distinct pages of documents likely assembled for or sent to M.A. Jinnah's office in the early post-Partition period (circa 1948). The only clearly legible item is a personal letter from Mohd. Aurangzeb Khan, an M.L.A. and advocate from Peshawar (Page 3). Written in a conversational, somewhat cryptic style, it references his father, discusses political figures (possibly Dr. Khan Sahib), and alludes to betrayal and political maneuvering in the Frontier and Punjab regions. The other pages are analytical or administrative notes containing garbled text, bullet points, numbered paragraphs, and abstract discussions on topics such as "feudal" systems, information transfer, scheduling, and conceptual foundations of rule.
Description: This is a challenging set of documents where only one page offers coherent, identifiable content—a personal-political letter from Mohd. Aurangzeb Khan to Jinnah. The letter's tone suggests a confidential update on local politics, naming individuals and hinting at rivalries. The other pages are enigmatic, consisting of fragmented analyses, lists, and philosophical musings on power and administration, heavily corrupted by scanning errors. Their presence suggests they were intended as supporting documents for a briefing or proposal. Collectively, they represent the "raw material" that flowed into Jinnah's secretariat: a combination of direct appeals from provincial leaders and the abstract, planning-oriented work of advisors or committees tasked with conceptualizing the administration of the new nation.
