Abstract: This collection includes diverse documents related to M.A. Jinnah from 1938-1945. It features: a 1938 resolution from the Jamiat Shubban Al-Muslimeen condemning a Hindu newspaper for an attack on Islam; personal letters discussing the writer's relationship with Jinnah and proposals for structuring Muslim political activity between the Jamiat-ul-Ulama and the Muslim League; a 1942 letter from NWFP warning Jinnah about individuals falsely claiming to represent the Jamiat-Ulamai; a 1945 public appeal for unity between Congress and the League addressed to Nehru and others; and 1945 resolutions from a Muslim public meeting in Kurnool protesting repression in the Banganpalle princely state.

Description: This file presents a cross-section of the varied concerns that reached M.A. Jinnah's desk in the late 1930s and mid-1940s. The documents illustrate three key spheres: 1) Religious Identity and Public Sentiment: The resolution over the "Hudapi" newspaper shows how perceived insults to Islam became national political issues requiring leadership response. Internal Muslim Community Structuring: Letters debating the roles of religious scholars (Ulama) versus political organizers (Muslim League) reveal ongoing tensions about authority and strategy within the Muslim political movement. Regional and Princely State Politics: Documents from the NWFP and Kurnool highlight Jinnah's role as a national figure whose endorsement was sought in local disputes and whose attention was needed to authenticate or discredit local actors. Together, they show Jinnah as a central node in a network dealing with religious sentiment, community organization, and regional political authenticity during the volatile pre-Partition years.
