Abstract: A collection of personal letters and a telegram from the ruler of Sadiq Garh State to M.A. Jinnah between late 1942 and 1943. The initial letter (19 Nov 1942) conveys a long-held desire for acquaintance and extends a formal invitation for Jinnah to visit the state, delivered via the ruler's Household Minister, Sardar Muhammad Amir Khan. The second letter (27 Jan 1943) acknowledges Jinnah's positive response, discusses suitable dates for the visit in February or March, and expresses grief over the sudden death of mutual friend Sir Sikandar Hayat Khan. An undated congratulatory telegram from the ruler to Jinnah is also included, offering blessings and good wishes.

Description: This file contains a series of warm and respectful communications from the ruler of Sadiq Garh State to M.A. Jinnah, highlighting the personal esteem and diplomatic courtesies extended to the leader of the All India Muslim League during World War II. The letters go beyond formal politics, reflecting a desire for personal connection and hospitality. The mention of Sir Sikandar Hayat's death grounds the correspondence in the contemporary political landscape, acknowledging a significant loss for Muslim India. These documents illustrate the broader network of respect and relationship-building that Jinnah cultivated with various princely state rulers, even beyond immediate political negotiations concerning accession or Muslim rights.
