Abstract: A letter dated 12 July 1947 from the Ruler of Suket State to M.A. Jinnah, explaining that due to ill health and unfavorable weather, the ruler cannot personally travel to Delhi. Instead, he sends his representative, Rai Sahib B.R. Beotra, Advocate from Amritsar, to discuss and seek Jinnah's guidance on the position of Suket State regarding accession to the Union of Pakistan. The ruler requests Jinnah to grant an interview to Mr. Beotra to help the state make a timely decision on joining the new Dominion.

Description: This file contains a letter that reflects the urgent and personal dilemmas faced by rulers of smaller princely states in the summer of 1947. The Ruler of Suket, unable to travel, relies on a trusted advocate to directly engage with M.A. Jinnah on the critical question of accession to Pakistan. The document highlights the practical challenges—health, distance, weather—that complicated last-minute political negotiations during the Partition. It also underscores the central role Jinnah played as the key authority whom rulers approached for counsel on their state's future alignment. SCANNED BY: NATIONAL ARCHIVES OF PAKISTAN.
