Abstract: This item consists of three handwritten letters authored by Muhammad Ali Jinnah, dating from 1938 and 1945. The first letter, written on official stationery marked “Prime Minister, Government of Bombay” and dated 11 May 1938, is addressed to Mr. A. Jinnah, Bar-at-Law and relates to the review of articles. The subsequent letters, dated 21 April 1945 from Malabar Hill, Bombay, are personal in tone and addressed to Khurshid, discussing travel, health, climate, and the sending of books and papers. Together, the letters provide insight into both the official and private communications of Jinnah during the late colonial period.
Description: Three original handwritten letters in English, written in cursive script on paper. One letter bears an official Government of Bombay insignia, while the others are written on personal stationery. The letters are dated and signed, showing variations between formal and intimate correspondence. The documents are of historical value for understanding Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s professional and personal communications in pre-independence India. SCANNED BY: NATIONAL ARCHIVES OF PAKISTAN.
