Abstract: Letter dated 13 March 1944 from 10, Aurangzeb Road, New Delhi, in which Muhammad Ali Jinnah courteously accepts a dinner invitation from Syed Maratib Ali during his visit to Lahore, conveying regards from Miss Jinnah as well. The second page is a handwritten logistical note, postmarked Srinagar (Kashmir) on 24 May 1944, listing quantities of fruit supplies (strawberries and cherries) intended for dispatch to Lahore. Together, the documents illustrate both the personal-social engagements and everyday practical arrangements surrounding key figures of the Pakistan Movement.
Description: This archival unit comprises two physically separate but contextually related documents. The first is a typed letter on off-white paper, dated 13 March 1944, written from 10, Aurangzeb Road, New Delhi, and signed by Muhammad Ali Jinnah. The letter acknowledges and accepts a dinner invitation from Syed Maratib Ali to be held in Lahore, specifies a suitable date, and conveys courteous regards from Miss Jinnah.
