Abstract: This collection consists of two documents from October 1945: a letter from The Anjuman-E Hussainee (a charitable institute in Godhra) to the President of the All India Muslim League, and a true translation of a resolution passed by the Anjuman. The letter forwards the resolution, passed in sympathy with Arab brothers in Palestine as desired by the Muslim League, and requests that their feelings be conveyed to the concerned Arabs. The resolution expresses deep sympathy for Arabs in Palestine, resentment toward attacks by Jews on Arab land, and calls upon the British and American governments to fulfill their solemn promises to the Arabs.

Description: This brief collection illustrates the engagement of local Indian Muslim organizations with international political issues in the mid-1940s. The documents show the Anjuman-E Hussainee, a charitable body in Godhra, aligning itself with the All India Muslim League's stance and actively expressing solidarity with the Arab cause in Palestine. The resolution reflects the strong pro-Arab sentiment among sections of Indian Muslims during the post-WWII phase of the Palestine conflict, highlighting the transnational concerns that influenced communal politics in India. The act of forwarding the resolution to the Muslim League leadership demonstrates the connection between grassroots organizations and the national political platform.
