Abstract: A collection of condolence telegrams sent to Miss Fatima Jinnah following the sudden death of her brother, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the founder and first Governor-General of Pakistan, in September 1948. The telegrams originate from various Muslim communities, organizations, and individuals across Pakistan (Dacca, Kohat), East Africa (Mwanza, Mombasa), Sudan (Omdurman), Mozambique (Beira), and Ceylon (Kurunegala), expressing profound grief, solidarity, and prayers.

Description: A series of original telegram forms conveying messages of sympathy and shock addressed to Miss Fatima Jinnah after the passing of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. The senders include the Ahmadiyya community of Dacca, the Muslim Association of Mwanza (Tanganyika), the Muslim Association of Mombasa, an individual in Omdurman (Sudan), the Jamii Azhar Mosque in Kurunegala (Ceylon), and others. The telegrams reflect the deep personal and political loss felt across the Muslim world, referring to Jinnah as a great leader, statesman, and guide. Many messages include Islamic prayers for the deceased and appeals for strength to continue his mission. The documents are official Posts and Telegraphs forms, bearing transmission stamps, dates, and routing codes. SCANNED BY: NATIONAL ARCHIVES OF PAKISTAN.
