Abstract: This collection comprises nine pages of documents analyzing the political situation in Kashmir and proposing Indo-Pakistan terms of settlement. A detailed political history traces the Muslim Conference from the 1931 movement through its revival by Chaudhri Ghulam Abbas, contrasting it with Sheikh Abdullah’s National Conference (a Government-backed disruption backed by Nehru and Dewan Ayyangar). It documents Muslim Conference demands: Full Responsible Government under the Maharaja, repeal of the discriminatory Arms Act, protection for converts to Islam, continuation of Urdu, adequate Muslim representation in services, and removal of cow-slaughter punishment. The author urges concentration on the sole demand of Responsible Government. Qaid-e-Azam’s 1944 Kashmir visit and his finding that “99 per cent Muslims were with the Muslim Conference” is cited.

Description: A comprehensive dossier on Kashmir’s Muslim political movement, contrasting the Muslim League-aligned Muslim Conference with the Congress-backed National Conference, alongside draft Indo-Pakistan terms for Kashmir and Junagadh settlements, reflecting the centrality of these issues to Jinnah and Pakistan.
