Abstract: This document presents a detailed analysis and rejection of the Wavell Plan by M. A. Jinnah. It argues that the Plan was a "snare" designed to bypass the Muslim League's two preconditions for entering any provisional government: a British declaration guaranteeing Muslim self-determination (Pakistan) and equal representation in the Executive. Jinnah contends that the proposed Executive would reduce Muslims to a one-third minority, with other minorities (Scheduled Castes, Sikhs, Christians) aligned with Congress's goal of a united India. He quotes Mr. Amery's House of Commons statement as evidence of British preference for an "all-India Union."
Description: Jinnah's comprehensive critique of the Wavell Plan, explaining why the Muslim League could not accept proposals that undermined Pakistan, reduced Muslim representation, and challenged the League's sole authority to speak for Indian Muslims. SCANNED BY: NATIONAL ARCHIVES OF PAKISTAN.
