Abstract: This collection comprises three Independence Day-related documents from the early years of Pakistan. The items include a poetic greeting from T. D. Chatlani reflecting on the spiritual significance of Pakistan's creation, linking it to the Prophet's message and the land of Sindh; an Independence Day greeting from M. F. Sheikh & Sons of Chittagong dated 14th August 1951, featuring patriotic slogans including "Pakistan Zindabad"; and an Independence Day greeting from the Premier Sugar Mills and Distillery Co. Ltd. of Mardan (NWFP) with prayers for Pakistan's stability, progress, and prosperity, opening with the Arabic invocation.
Description: A significant compilation of early Pakistani patriotic ephemera from the years following independence, reflecting the spirit of the new nation founded under the leadership of Quaid-e-Azam M.A. Jinnah. The collection includes a philosophical poetic tribute from an individual celebrating the spiritual foundations of Pakistan in Sindh, alongside commercial greetings from businesses in East Pakistan (Chittagong) and West Pakistan (Mardan) marking Independence Day 1951. These documents illustrate how both individuals and corporations expressed national pride and offered prayers for the young nation's future in the years immediately after Jinnah's death, demonstrating the enduring impact of his vision.
