Abstract: This collection comprises international condolence telegrams addressed to Miss Fatima Jinnah following the death of Quaid-e-Azam M.A. Jinnah on September 11, 1948. The documents include messages from Begum Zafarhosain in Geneva, Anjuman Islam Usumbura (Burundi), Surtee Mussalman Society in Mauritius, Muslim Women's Society in Kampala (Uganda), Mufindi Muslims (Tanganyika), Mohamedali Jamal in Kampala, Ceylon Indian Congress in Yatiyantota, and a formal message from King Farouk of Egypt conveyed through the Egyptian Charge d'Affaire in Karachi, along with Fatima Jinnah's thank-you letter to the Egyptian diplomat.

Description: These telegrams provide powerful evidence of the global reach of mourning for Jinnah, with messages arriving from Muslim communities, women's organizations, and commercial bodies across East Africa, Europe, and Asia. The collection includes a rare message from King Farouk of Egypt, demonstrating the respect Jinnah commanded among international leadership, and Fatima Jinnah's personal acknowledgment of these condolences. Together with messages from Ceylon, Mauritius, Uganda, Tanganyika, and Burundi, these documents reveal how Jinnah's death was experienced as a personal loss by Muslim communities far beyond Pakistan's borders, reflecting his status as a leader of global significance for the Muslim world.
