Abstract: This collection comprises medical examination reports of Quaid-e-Azam M.A. Jinnah spanning 1940 to 1948. The documents include haematological analyses, urine examinations, X-ray reports of the chest and spine, and clinical assessments from doctors in Bombay, New Delhi, and Karachi. The reports document Jinnah's blood counts, liver function, lung condition showing old calcified tubercular lesions, chronic bronchitis, and subsequent health decline, with the final report from December 1947 showing significantly reduced haemoglobin.
Description: These medical documents provide rare insight into the health of Pakistan's founder during the critical years leading to independence. The 1940 reports from Dr. F.W. Berger in Bombay reveal old healed tubercular lesions in Jinnah's lungs, chronic bronchitis, and slightly impaired liver function, with the doctor reassuring Jinnah that his condition was manageable. The 1945 X-ray from New Delhi shows calcified patches and arthritic changes in the spine. The December 1947 blood report from Dr. K.T. Gajjar in Bombay shows declining health with haemoglobin at 65% and elevated leucocytes. Together, these documents trace Jinnah's physical deterioration during the demanding years of the Pakistan Movement and his tenure as Governor-General, culminating in his death.
