Abstract: This collection comprises correspondence and records documenting donations received by the Central Flood Relief Committee for East Pakistan, chaired by Miss Fatima Jinnah, during 1954–1955. The materials include letters from the Pakistan High Commission in London regarding a sterling balance for emergency purchases, acknowledgments of donations from donors in Madagascar transmitted through the Pakistan Embassy in Paris, and contributions from individuals and organizations in Saudi Arabia and across Pakistan. The records also include acknowledgments of clothing parcels and cash donations from Karachi-based firms and educational institutions in Punjab.
Description: Letters from the Pakistan High Commissioner in London inform Miss Fatima Jinnah of approximately £1500 held in sterling for emergency purchases by the Central Relief Fund Committee. Correspondence from the Pakistan Embassy in Paris transmits donations from Madagascar donors converted to sterling. Individual donation letters include a Rs. 100 contribution from an ARAMCO employee in Saudi Arabia, Rs. 1,000 from Indus Glass Works, and Rs. 3,000 along with clothing parcels from Ismail Bros.
