A cover page identifies the ledger book from the National Bank of Pakistan's Local Principal Office in Dacca.

Description: A cover page identifies the document as a ledger book from the National Bank of Pakistan's Local Principal Office in Dacca. Mr. G.M. Adamjee's account (Rs. 5,000) records detailed purchases including multiple bags of rice (totaling over 40 maunds), tins of mustard and kerosene oil, salt, sugar, masur lentils, atta, matches, and washing soap. Each entry specifies quantities in maunds, seers, and chhataks with precise costs. Transportation and labour costs include boat fares from office to sandar, launch fares, rickshaw hire from Pan Bagar to Hajiganj, and numerous coolie and handling charges. Mr. Ahmad Dada's account (Rs. 5,000) similarly itemizes rice purchases, kerosene oil tins, sugar, salt, mustard oil, masur lentils, and extensive handling charges including boat hire, coolie wages, and tiffin expenses over multiple days in September 1955. The ledgers demonstrate the granular accounting required for relief supply procurement, transportation, and distribution operations. SCANNED BY: NATIONAL ARCHIVES OF PAKISTAN.
