Abstract: This file contains military personnel records documenting the distribution of flood relief funds to East Pakistani soldiers affected by the 1955 floods. The cover letter from HQ 14 Division, Dacca Cantonment (August 1956) forwards nominal rolls for Rs. 9,366 disbursed from the Rs. 25,000 allotment made by Miss Fatima Jinnah. Detailed payment sheets from various army units across Pakistan show individual payments ranging from Rs. 10 to Rs. 70. Units represented include 612 Coy ASC (GT) (Peshawar Cantt), Pakistan Military Academy (Kakul), East Bengal Regt Centre (Chittagong Cantt), G.O.D. Rawalpindi, AOG Centre (Malir Cantt), Ordnance Depot Quetta, I East Bengal (Sialkot Cantt), 8 Div Sig Regt (Quetta), and others. Each nominal roll lists soldiers by regimental number, rank, name, district of origin (primarily Dacca, Mymensingh, Noakhali, and others), and amount received. The documents are variously stamped, signed by paying officers (including Captains, Lieutenant Colonels, and unit commanders), and certified as part of the East Pakistan Flood Relief Fund.
