Abstract: This file contains three pages of records from April 1956 documenting flood relief grant processes. The first document is a letter from the Secretary, Matlaoganj J.B.H.E. School (Tippera, April 4, 1956) reporting that despite submitting a Certificate of Undertaking via registered post, the Rs. 2,600 grant sanctioned on January 24, 1956, had not been received, causing anxiety as repairs were needed before the rainy season. The second document is a cheque payment advice from the Chief Manager, National Bank of Pakistan, to the Post Master, General Post Office, Dacca (undated but likely April 1956), enclosing a cheque for Rs. 88,226-10-0 to cover 199 money orders sent to various institutions, including money order charges. The third document is a sanction memo (No. RFRC/REI/SL/1, dated April 3, 1956) addressed to Assaria Semiar Madrasha (P.O. Cheara, Tippera), sanctioning Rs. 2,000 for rehabilitation, subject to submission of a Certificate of Undertaking countersigned by the S.D.O. or D.M., with a copy forwarded to Miss Fatima Jinnah.
Description: This file contains three April 1956 records: a school’s complaint about an unreceived Rs. 2,600 grant, a large cheque payment for 199 money orders to institutions (Rs. 88,226), and a sanction memo for Rs. 2,000 to a madrasa. The documents illustrate the committee’s grant disbursement processes, payment mechanisms via postal money orders, and delays that prompted follow-up correspondence.
