Abstract: This file contains comprehensive records of the Ulipur Maternity Hospital construction project funded by the Regional Flood Relief Committee. The 17th meeting (November 23, 1957) approved a Rs. 60,000 grant following an application from Mr. Abul Qasim forwarded by Miss Fatima Jinnah, with land offered as free gift and S.D.O., Kurigram, designated to supervise. Disbursements included Rs. 10,000 on May 3, 1958, and Rs. 10,000 on October 17, 1958. After S.D.O., Kurigram, expressed inability to supervise, responsibility shifted to the District Board, Rangpur. A revised estimate raised total cost to Rs. 75,870, prompting a request for an additional Rs. 15,870. The committee resolved (May 3, 1960) to send architect Mr. Dawood Khan (provided by Mr. G.M. Adamjee) to survey the site. His May 1960 report certified proper utilization of Rs. 20,000 and suggested reducing estimated cost by Rs. 8,000.

Description: This file contains the complete record of the Ulipur Maternity Hospital project from 1957 to 1961, including meeting minutes approving Rs. 60,000, disbursement records, revised estimates, architect’s survey report, and correspondence regarding supervision and further remittances. The documents illustrate the committee’s oversight of a major infrastructure project funded by Miss Fatima Jinnah. SCANNED BY: NATIONAL ARCHIVES OF PAKISTAN.
