Abstract: This file contains six pages of records related to flood relief efforts in Chandpur and Dacca. Two authorization letters (September 20, 1958) from M. Raschid authorize Mr. R.R. Qureshey to withdraw Rs. 5,000 to purchase clothes (sarees, lungies, gungies) for distribution in flood-affected Chandpur Sub-Division, as per the 19th Meeting resolution (September 14, 1958). An internal note recommends a Rs. 5,000 relief grant for Chandpur. A detailed appeal from Chandpur Mahkuma Samity, signed by President Chowdhury Md. Sarwar, describes the sub-division’s vulnerability to flooding, the devastation during 1954–1955 floods, and recent inundations, requesting immediate assistance. A letter from Dacca Municipality (June 1956) signed by Chairman Choudhury A.A. Siddiky requests Rs. 25,000 for repairing school buildings and structures damaged by floods, citing the municipality’s precarious financial position.

Description: This file contains authorization letters for cloth purchase and distribution in Chandpur, an internal relief recommendation, a detailed appeal from Chandpur Mahkuma Samity describing flood devastation, and a municipal request for school repair funds. The documents illustrate the committee’s coordination with local organizations and government bodies for flood relief distribution and infrastructure rehabilitation.
