Abstract: Miss Fatima Jinnah’s seven‑day visit to East Pakistan as Chairman of the Central Flood Relief Committee. On arrival in Dacca, she brought “abundance of sympathy, goodwill and love” from West Pakistan. She visited relief centres in Dacca, Narayanganj, Comilla, Rangpur (Kurigram), and Mymensingh (Madhupur, Ghatail, Pakutia), personally distributing thousands of sarees, lungis, vests, and other cloth. She addressed large crowds, praising the people’s courage and fortitude, urging unity, and quoting Quaid‑i‑Azam’s message: “Work, work and more work is needed.” She announced that Rs. 14 lakhs had been earmarked for rehabilitation and educational institutions, and formed a seven‑member Regional Flood Relief Committee under her chairmanship (Justice Ameeruddin, Vice‑Chairman; M. Rashid, Secretary; G.M. Adamjee, Sadri Ispahani, Ahmed Dada, G.A. Faruqi, Yahya Khan Chaudhry).
