Abstract: This file of speeches and messages delivered by Miss Fatima Jinnah on 13th August 1956, the ninth anniversary of Pakistan’s independence. She recalls the unique creation of Pakistan under Quaid‑i‑Azam’s leadership, achieved by democratic means. She identifies two unresolved challenges: the Kashmir issue, where she pledges Pakistan’s support to the Kashmiri freedom struggle, and the refugee problem, criticising the government’s failure to rehabilitate lakhs of refugees living in sub‑human conditions in Karachi. She condemns recent police misconduct in Karachi, calling for a public inquiry to restore citizens’ sense of security.

She critiques the government’s failure on refugee rehabilitation and police excesses, expresses solidarity with Kashmir, warns against political instability and agricultural decline, and calls for educational reform.
