Abstract: This file contains documents from 1949 to 1953 related to relief efforts for Kashmir and Miss Fatima Jinnah’s leadership in the Kashmir cause. A list from the Kashmir Relief Committee (Dacca City Muslim League Women’s Sub‑Committee) details 18 pairs of socks, 4 pairs of gloves, 14 pullovers, 3 scarves, 1 cap, and 24 pairs of shoes sent to Miss Fatima Jinnah (12 February 1949). A letter from Ismail Haji Suleman (15 February 1949) requests customs duty exemption for 1,000 blankets for Kashmir refugees; the reply (2 March 1949) clarifies that Miss Jinnah did not order the consignment.

Description: This file comprises correspondence, donation lists, and two significant speeches by Miss Fatima Jinnah from 1949 to 1953. It documents material support for Kashmiri mujahideen and refugees through clothing and blankets sent from Dacca and Karachi. It also reveals administrative challenges, such as customs duty exemption and undelivered consignments. Miss Fatima Jinnah’s message and speech articulate Pakistan’s demand for a UN‑supervised plebiscite, condemn Indian procrastination, and honour the sacrifices of Kashmiris. Her references to Quaid‑i‑Azam’s final concerns underscore the emotional and political weight of the Kashmir issue in early Pakistan. SCANNED BY: NATIONAL ARCHIVES OF PAKISTAN.
