Abstract: Fatima Jinnah visits Anjuman Hayatul Islam (27 Sept 1949), praises its orphan care, and urges government and public support. Sunni organizations from Khairpur State repeatedly complain to Pakistan authorities (copying Fatima Jinnah) against the Chief Minister for fomenting sectarian strife and canceling advocates’ licenses. Anjuman‑i‑Himayat‑i‑Islam Lahore requests Fatima Jinnah to issue a public appeal for Rs. 5 lakhs to extend Islamia College for Women.
Description: Proceedings of Fatima Jinnah’s visit to a Karachi orphanage where she delivered a speech praising its work and promised government attention. Several letters from Khairpur State’s Sunni anjumans accuse the Chief Minister of anti‑Sunni policies, cancelling lawyers’ licenses without cause, and ignoring repeated complaints. A later request from Lahore’s premier charitable organization seeks Fatima Jinnah’s intervention to raise funds for a women’s college extension wing and orphanages.
