Abstract: This file of mixed financial and administrative documents related to the Khatoon-i-Pakistan Girls High School under Miss Fatima Jinnah’s patronage. A letter (3 November 1958) from Shafique Ahmed, Secretary to Miss Fatima Jinnah, transmits a cheque and a KDA water supply bill (No. WC-1/Book3/10/3439 for Rs. 112/15/-) for verification. A handwritten list details immediate requirements for the school, including daily and monthly cash books, registers, files, stationery, cleaning supplies, and other items. A summary page records three bills totaling Rs. 5,799/8/-. An estimate for constructing servant’s quarters provides itemized costs (excavation, concrete, masonry, doors, plaster, etc.) totaling Rs. 4,524/8/- after deducting Rs. 2,000 for school materials used. Two ledger pages dated June 1950 and July 1950 record salary payments to staff, purchase of a “Masjid” (prayer room), fence, and miscellaneous expenses. A blank receipt form is also included.

Description: This file contains a collection of records from the Khatoon-i-Pakistan Girls High School spanning 1950 and 1958. It includes a letter forwarding a cheque and a water supply bill from the Karachi Development Authority, a requisition list for school stationery and supplies, a summary of three bills, a detailed estimate for servant’s quarters construction (itemising excavation, concrete, masonry, plaster, etc.), and handwritten ledger pages from June–July 1950 recording salary disbursements and purchases. The documents illustrate the administrative and financial management of a girls’ school under the patronage of Miss Fatima Jinnah, including both routine supply needs and infrastructure projects. The presence of 1950 ledger pages alongside 1958 correspondence suggests a chronological mix within the file. SCANNED BY: NATIONAL ARCHIVES OF PAKISTAN.
