Abstract: This file contains a speech by Miss Fatima Jinnah accepting the completed building of the Khatoon-e-Pakistan Girls High School from the Haydari Construction Company. She recounts that the foundation stone was laid on 25 December 1955, but construction was delayed due to shortage of funds (only Rs. 3 lakhs collected against an estimated Rs. 5–6 lakhs). Mr. Mohd Ali Habib offered to undertake the work and donate the labour charges. Work started in December 1956; costs rose to about Rs. 9 lakhs, but Mr. Habib completed the building. Miss Jinnah expresses deep gratitude. A letter to the Director of Education requests a government grant of Rs. 600,000 (balance after receiving Rs. 1,50,000) to pay pending bills and start the school.
