Abstract: This file contains a Government of Pakistan Cabinet Secretariat file cover (1958) and several pages of financial and administrative records from the Muslim Women’s Industrial Home and the Muslim Ladies Technical & Industrial Institute in Karachi, spanning 1947 to 1965. A donation receipt (2 September 1947) acknowledges Rs. 1,100 from Mrs. Musse Jahan Jinnah via cheque for food and salary. Multiple letters from the Principal (Mrs. K.M. Minocher) to Miss Fatima Jinnah (Honorary Chairman) request cheques for staff salaries: Rs. 1,912 for December 1964 (adjusted for leave without pay), Rs. 2,084 for December 1965 (before winter holidays), Rs. 2,084 for June–July 1965, and a corrected request for Rs. 2,084 for June 1965 (with a discrepancy in wording). Another letter (28 May 1965) reports that Rs. 346 drawn for water pipe replacement remained unspent and was redeposited, requesting a new cheque after the financial year closure.

Description: This file contains a Cabinet Secretariat file cover and financial correspondence from 1947 to 1965 related to two women’s vocational institutions under Miss Fatima Jinnah’s chairmanship. A 1947 donation receipt shows early funding. Letters from the Principal (Mrs. K.M. Minocher) to Miss Fatima Jinnah in the 1960s request cheques for staff salaries, detail adjustments for leave, and note winter holidays. One letter discusses redepositing unspent funds for water pipe repairs. Another proposes moving the current account balance (over Rs. 17,000) to an interest‑bearing savings account to generate income. The records illustrate the ongoing financial management and operational needs of these post‑Partition women’s training institutes under Miss Fatima Jinnah’s patronage. The Cabinet Secretariat file cover (1958) suggests some government oversight or reference. SCANNED BY: NATIONAL ARCHIVES OF PAKISTAN.
