Abstract: This file contains a Government of Pakistan Cabinet Secretariat file cover with the subject line followed by several pages of handwritten financial notes and calculations. A page dated “Month of August 60” lists labour charges (Rs. 48-0-0), fitting goods (Rs. 4-8-0), and paints (Rs. 10-0-0), totalling Rs. 62-8-0. Another page calculates costs for wood for border (Rs. 50-0-0), extra charges on cement sheets (Rs. 68-8-0), and mason charges (Rs. 16-0-0), with a grand total of Rs. 2,774-10-0 and an amount payable of Rs. 974-10-0. Detailed measurements for Bedroom No. 1, Dressing Room No. 1, Bedroom No. 2, its octagonal portion, and Dressing Room No. 2 are provided, with costs calculated at Rs. 2/6 per foot, resulting in a grand total of Rs. 2,640-2-0 plus border charges.

Description: This file contains a Cabinet Secretariat file cover and several pages of handwritten financial calculations from around 1960. The documents detail labour charges, material costs (wood, cement sheets, paints), and room‑wise cost estimates for bedrooms and dressing rooms, with measurements in feet and rates per foot. Total costs amount to over Rs. 2,600. The file may be related to construction or renovation work for an institutional building, possibly connected to the Muslim Women’s Industrial Home or similar project under Miss Fatima Jinnah’s oversight, though the connection is not explicit. Several pages contain Urdu/Persian script. The calculations are itemised and suggest a detailed costing exercise for a building project in early 1960s Pakistan.
