Abstract: This file contains resolutions passed at a meeting of the Khatoon-i-Pakistan Education and Welfare Board held on 3 January 1957 under the presidency of Miss Fatima Jinnah. The Board resolved to take over the Muslim Ladies’ Technical Industrial Institute (Nanakwada, Karachi) and the Muslim Women’s Industrial Home. Separate committees were formed to manage each institution. Current accounts were to be opened in Habib Bank Ltd., New Challi Branch, to be operated by any two of three office‑bearers (Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer). The Principal of the Institute was permitted to maintain a cash hand of Rs. 150/- (with a limit of Rs. 50/- per expense without prior permission) and to collect fees; the Matron of the Home was permitted Rs. 100/- cash hand (limit Rs. 500/-).

Description: This file documents the formal takeover of two women’s vocational institutions in Karachi by the Khatoon-i-Pakistan Education and Welfare Board under Miss Fatima Jinnah’s leadership in January 1957. Resolutions detail the creation of managing committees, bank account operation rules (any two of three office‑bearers), and petty cash limits for the Principal (Rs. 150, max Rs. 50 per expense) and Matron (Rs. 100, max Rs. 500). A 1957 letter shows the Institute’s students sending food samples to Miss Jinnah. A 1987 meeting notice indicates the Institute’s continued operation decades later. The documents illustrate the administrative and financial management of post‑Partition women’s training institutions patronised by Miss Fatima Jinnah. SCANNED BY: NATIONAL ARCHIVES OF PAKISTAN.
