Description: This file contains a series of letters and records from 1957–1958 related to the administration and finances of the Muslim Ladies Technical & Industrial Institute in Karachi, which operated under the patronage of Miss Fatima Jinnah and the Khatoon-i-Pakistan Education & Welfare Board. The documents cover staff salary scales and annual increments, a recommendation to admit a destitute widow into the affiliated Muslim Women’s Industrial Home, an audit report highlighting a balance of over Rs. 27,000 and suggesting better record-keeping, requests for sanction of expenses for a school function and cooking equipment, a complaint about delayed salary cheques, and a request for funds to purchase furniture. The records illustrate the day-to-day financial and managerial challenges of running a women’s vocational training institute in post-Partition Pakistan. SCANNED BY: NATIONAL ARCHIVES OF PAKISTAN.
