Abstract: Correspondence, and proposals related to the Khatoon-i-Pakistan Education and Welfare Board and the Khatoon-e-Pakistan Girls’ School under the patronage of Miss Fatima Jinnah. A note (14 April 1956) instructs the Secretary to obtain signatures on receipts and deposit cheques (Rs. 2,000 from Star Textile Mills Ltd., Rs. 500 from Dawjee Daidabhooy & Co., and Rs. 466/12/- cash from Mr. Abdul Wahab Khan) into the Board’s account at Habib Bank, Saddar Branch. Another note (7 June 1958) explains that Mrs. Zahida Shaikh handed over Rs. 76 collected as registration fees, with a satisfactory explanation for the delay. A letter from Gestetner Pakistan Limited (undated, c. 1961) reminds Miss Fatima Jinnah of a promise to consider purchasing a duplicator for the school in July, offers a demonstration, and extols the machine’s benefits.

Description: This file contains a set of administrative and planning documents from 1956 to 1961 concerning the Khatoon-i-Pakistan Girls’ School in Karachi. Financial notes record cheque deposits and registration fee collections. A letter from Gestetner Pakistan Ltd. promotes a duplicator for the school. A reflective note compares Russian youth organisations and suggests organised national activities for Pakistani students. A proposal addresses the concerns of elite families about distance and English-medium instruction, recommending a bus service and a qualified English teacher for Senior Cambridge preparation. A furniture quotation details costs for science laboratory tables. Together, these documents illustrate the operational, financial, and pedagogical planning involved in running a girls’ school under Miss Fatima Jinnah’s patronage.
