Abstract: Letter from the Honorary General Secretary of the Pakistan Girl Guides Association to Miss Fatima Jinnah (25 December 1950) enclosing a copy of the revised Memorandum and Constitution. The main document is the complete Memorandum and Constitution of the Pakistan Girl Guides Association. The Memorandum outlines the Association’s aim: to develop good citizenship among girls through character formation, observation, obedience, self-reliance, and service. It includes the Guide Promise (duty to God and country, helping others, obeying the Guide Law), the Guide Law (ten principles including trustworthiness, loyalty, helpfulness, courtesy, kindness to animals, obedience, cheerfulness, thrift, and purity), and the Bluebird Promise.

Description: This file contains the official Memorandum and Constitution of the Pakistan Girl Guides Association as revised in December 1950, forwarded to Miss Fatima Jinnah, the Patron of the Association. The documents establish the foundational principles of the Guide movement in Pakistan: the aim of developing good citizenship, the voluntary and non-political nature of the organization, the three-fold Promise (duty to God and country, helping others, obeying the Guide Law), and the ten-point Guide Law. The Constitution outlines the governance structure including the General Council, Executive Committee, provincial and state commissioners, district organizations, and the patrol system. Financial rules emphasize earning over begging, and Guides are prohibited from participating in political demonstrations or industrial disputes. SCANNED BY: NATIONAL ARCHIVES OF PAKISTAN.
