This is a curated set of archival documents highlighting the public and semi-public engagements of M.A. Jinnah in the crucial decade before the Partition of India. The files reveal a multifaceted picture: Jinnah as an invited dignitary by multi-ethnic liberal groups, as the key political figure in constitutional negotiations, and as a recipient of earnest appeals for national unity from ordinary citizens. The collection includes significant items such as a detailed manifesto for a non-communal "Indian First" political party, a teacher's association's plea for the release of political prisoners to foster a better political atmosphere, and personal letters regarding the confidentiality of his political talks.
