Abstract: Bills and receipts from Bombay, New Delhi, and Karachi (1939‑1947) show Miss Fatima Jinnah’s purchases of silk fabric, spectacles, jewellery, and household goods. Later documents from 1948 include a comptroller’s notes on daily marketing, coconut oil, khaki drill, and cook’s advances, plus a 1951 share transfer of 300 Orient Airways shares and correspondence about silk purchased for an institution.

Description: The earliest items include a 1939 receipt from R. Bagoomal (Bombay) for silk, a 1940 bill from Moosajee Lookmanjee & Sons (Karachi Camp), and a 1946 optical bill from Lawrence & Mayo (New Delhi) for spectacles costing Rs. 63/8. Multiple cash memos from Asia Art Emporium (Karachi Camp, 1946‑1947) document purchases of taffeta and other goods. A series of memos from Miss Jinnah’s comptroller (July‑August 1948) cover khaki drill purchase (Rs. 124/9), cook’s advances, coconut oil enquiries, and bills for cakes and bread. A 1951 document shows transfer of 300 Orient Airways shares to “Madar-e-Pakistan Miss Fatima Jinnah”. Finally, correspondence with Mrs. Sher Zaman and a cheque from Quetta (July 1951) relates to silk purchased for the “Idara” (institution), with a discrepancy in the amount (Rs. 822/8 vs. Rs. 712/8) that Miss Jinnah rectifies.
