Description: The earliest document (October 1945) is a gas bill from The Bombay Gas Co., Ltd., addressed to M.A. Jinnah (Quaid‑e‑Azam) at Mount Pleasant Road, Bombay, showing minimal consumption and meter rent. A 1958 letter from Karachi Gas Company apologizes for an employee’s negligence that broke two windows of Miss Jinnah’s house. In November 1958, the Company sends a re‑quotation for domestic gas installation at Flagstaff House, including a specification and gas contract. Two debit notes (January 23‑24, 1959) charge Rs. 450 for extension of the house line from the meter outlet to the kitchen with gas points for a cooking range. On February 3, 1959, Miss Jinnah’s secretary encloses a cheque for Rs. 480 (Rs. 450 cost + Rs. 30 security deposit). Separately, Karachi Autos (April 7, 1958) lists seven unpaid bills from 1957‑1958 for work on her Cadillac (KAA‑4800), totalling Rs. 746/7/‑, requesting early payment. A separate bill from March 5, 1958 shows engine tuning charge of Rs. 15. SCANNED BY: NATIONAL ARCHIVES OF PAKISTAN.
