Abstract: Correspondence from March to April 1955 between Miss Fatima Jinnah’s secretary (A. Rashid) and the Karachi Municipal Corporation regarding water supply charges for plot 6/241, Staff Lines (Flagstaff House). The secretary requests monthly statements because bills have not been received regularly, asks for meter examination dates, and seeks outstanding information. The Corporation sends a memo (8 March 1955) demanding Rs. 27.10 overdue and threatening disconnection.
Description: A. Rashid, secretary to Miss Fatima Jinnah, writes multiple letters (5, 6, 16, 26 March 1955) to the Chief Assessor & Collector, KMC, requesting monthly water charge statements and meter examination dates, as bills have not been received regularly. The Corporation’s memo (8 March 1955) demands payment of Rs. 27.10 due for water supplied by meter, warning that failure to pay will result in disconnection. Another document (undated) indicates a bill of Rs. 136 was forwarded for payment. The correspondence reflects administrative follow-up on municipal utilities for her residence.
