Abstract: A contractor from Delhi, Sh. Mohd. Azim, writes to Miss Fatima Jinnah (10 January 1949) seeking an interview regarding an unpaid bill for work done at 10 Aurangzeb Road, New Delhi, which the late Quaid‑i‑Azam had wished to settle. Miss Jinnah replies (18 January 1949) fixing a meeting on Sunday 23rd at 11 a.m. Two pages of handwritten calculations follow, detailing repair work to a bungalow including cement painting, wooden floor planks, and fittings, with totals in Rupees.
Description: Sh. Mohd. Azim writes from Karachi (11 Islamia Waqf Building, Frere Road) explaining that the late Quaid‑i‑Azam had called him to Karachi to pay for work at 10 Aurangzeb Road, New Delhi, but the invitation arrived too late. He requests an interview. Miss Fatima Jinnah’s reply (on Flagstaff House letterhead, dated 18 January 1949) grants an appointment for Sunday 23rd at 11 a.m. The remaining two pages (handwritten, undated) appear to be estimates for bungalow repairs, listing items such as cement painting for various blocks (e.g., “Block No. 1”, “Block No. 2”, “Block No. 3”), preparation of fittings, and replacement of wooden floor planks, with measurements in square feet and costs including totals like “408-12”. These likely relate to maintenance of Miss Jinnah’s property. SCANNED BY: NATIONAL ARCHIVES OF PAKISTAN.
