Abstract: A set of bank letters and forms from Habib Bank Limited (Merewether Tower Branch and Foreign Exchange Branch, Karachi) addressed to Miss Fatima Jinnah at Flagstaff House (241 Staff Lines) between 1950 and 1960. Documents include current account balance confirmations (e.g., Rs. 12,723 in 1950; Rs. 86,993/57 in 1958; Rs. 52,042/14/4 in 1958; Rs. 14,770 in 1959), a savings bank confirmation (Rs. 12,269/14/10 in 1955), a credit advice for half‑yearly interest on Pakistan Loan 1960 (Rs. 12,000), and acknowledgments of dividend warrants (Rs. 625 and Rs. 250).
Description: The earliest document (1 July 1950) requests Miss Jinnah to confirm a credit balance of Rs. 12,723 in her current account. A 1952 letter acknowledges receipt of dividend warrants for Rs. 625 and Rs. 250, credited to her account No. 2335. Subsequent confirmation letters from the Foreign Exchange Branch (1954‑1960) show balances fluctuating between Rs. 3,966 (1954) and Rs. 86,993/57 (1958). A credit advice dated 21 February 1958 notes an interest credit of Rs. 12,000 “on a/c Quaid‑e‑Azam Executors Trust” from Pakistan Loan 1960. These records illustrate Miss Jinnah’s banking relationships and her role as executor of the Quaid‑i‑Azam’s estate. SCANNED BY: NATIONAL ARCHIVES OF PAKISTAN.
