Abstract: A 1948 letter from Miss Fatima Jinnah to Habib Bank Limited (Bunder Road, Karachi) requests updating her current account passbook. Balance confirmation letters from the bank (1 January 1949 and 1 July 1949) show credit balances of Rs. 2,162/13 and Rs. 3,42,87/4, with her signed confirmations. A 1954 letter acknowledges receipt of a cheque for Rs. 1,20,312/8 to be credited to her account.

Description: The first document (3 November 1948) is a personal letter from Miss Fatima Jinnah to the Manager of Habib Bank Limited, sending her current account passbook for checking and updating. The second document (1 January 1949) is a printed bank form from Habib Bank Limited, Bunder Road, showing a credit balance of Rs. 2,162/13 as of 31 December 1948, with interest credited of Rs. 30/15, and includes a signed confirmation by Miss Jinnah. A similar form (1 July 1949) shows a credit balance of Rs. 3,42,87/4, with interest credited Rs. 29/7, again signed. The final document (27 February 1954) from Habib Bank’s Merewether Tower Branch acknowledges receipt of a cheque for Rs. 1,20,312/8 from Miss Jinnah, with instructions to collect it on 5 March 1954 and credit her account.
