Abstract: A letter from Habib Bank’s Central Office (Karachi) to Miss Fatima Jinnah, dated 25 January 1957, confirming delivery of Government of India Loans of the aggregate face value of Rs. 1,00,000 standing in the name of the late Quaid‑i‑Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah. The bank will contact the Public Debt Office of the State Bank of Pakistan at Lahore to verify payment terms and advise on obtaining a succession certificate from the High Court of West Pakistan.

Description: The letter lists six loans (Nos. DHO 18072‑18077) of the 3% loan 1951‑54, each of Rs. 10,000 except one of Rs. 50,000, totalling Rs. 1,00,000. It confirms that Miss Jinnah delivered these securities to the bank. The bank undertakes to contact the State Bank’s Public Debt Office in Lahore to confirm whether payment will be made in Pakistan upon production of a succession certificate from the High Court of West Pakistan. This document reflects Miss Jinnah’s role as executor of her brother’s estate and the legal complexities of transferring assets across the India‑Pakistan border after Partition.
