Abstract: Cheques issued by Miss Fatima Jinnah between December 1948 and January 1949: Rs. 19,525 to “Sammullah Yee” (23 Dec 1948), Rs. 5,500 to “Mr. J. D’oliva” (18 Jan 1949), and Rs. 459 (or 459 annas) to an unclear payee (8 Jan 1949). Accompanied by a printed cheque book caution notice warning against forgery and fraud.

Description: The first page is a standard caution notice from a cheque book, advising customers to keep the book under lock and key and to fill cheques in ink; it is addressed to “MISS FELICIA” (likely a misspelling of Miss Fatima). The subsequent pages are the cheques themselves: No. 001951 (23 December 1948) for Rs. 19,525/-; No. 001953 (8 January 1949) for Rs. 459/- (or 459 annas?); and No. 001952 (18 January 1949) for Rs. 5,500/-.
