Abstract: Documents from 1951‑1952 found in Miss Fatima Jinnah’s files: a retired police officer’s memorial to the Prime Minister (copied to Miss Jinnah) about his daughter’s unpaid loan at Fatemah Jinnah Medical College; a dinner invitation from A.B. Habibullah; a refugee lawyer’s appeal for de‑requisition of his exchanged house in Khulna; and a widow’s correspondence with the Treasury Office, Karachi, seeking her late husband’s pension.
Description: A memorial from K.S. Altaf Ahmed, retired D.I.G. of Police, Bhopal, to the Prime Minister, copied to Miss Jinnah, complains that his daughter Rohina Alvi, a student at Fatemah Jinnah Medical College, Lahore, has not received a promised loan despite completing formalities, leaving her in economic distress. A brief letter from A.B. Habibullah (page 3) invites Miss Jinnah to dinner to celebrate the Quaid‑i‑Azam’s Gold Cup victory. A refugee legal practitioner from Khulna (page 5, dated 22 January 1952) describes exchanging his West Bengal house for a house in Khulna, but the Khulna house remains under requisition despite ministerial orders, leaving him homeless for over two years; he requests Miss Jinnah’s intervention. The remaining pages (8‑15) contain correspondence between Begum Sarwar Jan, a widow with five children whose husband died in a railway accident, and the Treasury Office, Karachi, trying to trace her husband’s pension records (T.S. No. 3470) – copies likely kept for reference or assistance. SCANNED BY: NATIONAL ARCHIVES OF PAKISTAN.
