Abstract: Petition to Miss Fatima Jinnah complaining of neglect in house allotment in Khairpur State, a resolution from the All Pakistan Khajajir Board protesting rehabilitation policies in Jacobabad, and a series of official letters from the State Bank, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and other authorities regarding the exchange of old Russian roubles (worth over 1,16,000) in the possession of Mr. Abdur Rahim Paracha – all exchanges refused as the currency had been demonetised.
Description: A resolution (22, 20 July 1957) from the All Pakistan Khajajir Board, Jacobabad, protests against orders stopping local occupants’ statements and demands proper rehabilitation of refugees. The remaining pages (34‑54) consist of official correspondence (1959‑1960) between Mr. Abdur Rahim Paracha (Quetta) and various authorities – State Bank of Pakistan, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Habib Bank, National Bank, and the City Magistrate – all declining to exchange a large amount of old Russian currency notes (1,16,241 roubles) as they are no longer legal tender. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also rejects his claims for property left in Afghanistan and advises no further representations. SCANNED BY: NATIONAL ARCHIVES OF PAKISTAN.
