Abstract: A tuberculosis patient’s appeal for financial help; a student’s request for Rs. 2,000 for aeronautical engineering studies in London (with a donation letter from the Ruler of Swat for Rs. 1,000 and a college fee receipt); a rejection letter from her secretary to a Miss Asif; and multiple employment testimonials, a matriculation certificate, and a character certificate for an individual named Mumtaz Saeed.

Description: A character certificate (Government High School, Sialkot) for Mumtaz Saeed. Employment testimonials from Jauharabad Sugar Mills (1955, 1958) describe him as efficient, honest, and diligent. A letter from Saif‑ulah (undated) describes his suffering from pulmonary tuberculosis and asks for financial aid from a “behavioural fund”. Sakhawat Ali (1958) requests Rs. 2,000 for study at the College of Aeronautical and Automobile Engineering, Chelsea, London; he encloses a letter from the Ruler of Swat’s secretary sanctioning Rs. 1,000 as a free donation (subject to proof of admission) and a college receipt for £50 fees. Miss Fatima Jinnah’s secretary rejects a request from Miss Asif (21 August 1958). These documents reflect diverse personal and educational appeals received by Miss Jinnah’s office.
