Abstract: Three appeals addressed to Miss Fatima Jinnah. A refugee widow from Kairana (U.P., India) requests a scholarship of Rs. 75 from the poor fund to educate her son and daughter; her husband, a former Sub‑Inspector, was persecuted by Hindu officers and invalided from service, his pension reduced from Rs. 27 to Rs. 18 after devaluation. An old widow appeals in the name of womanhood for a decent livelihood in Pakistan, offering to submit her Jagir and properties in India. A student, Alimohd from Havelian (Hazara), appeals for financial assistance to continue his education after passing Fazil examination.

Description: Letter is from the wife of Hakeem Zia‑ul‑Haq, a retired Sub‑Inspector. She explains that her husband was sent to a mental hospital by Hindu officers due to his anti‑Congress activities, and their 600 bighas of land and house in Kairana were confiscated by the Indian government. She requests Rs. 75 per month scholarship from the poor fund for her two children in ninth class. The second letter (page 8) is from an unnamed old widow who asks Miss Jinnah to help her find a decent source of livelihood in Pakistan, stating she is willing to submit her Jagir and Indian properties to the government. The third document (page 20) is a typed appeal from Alimohd of Havelian, Hazara, who has passed the Fazil examination but cannot afford books or regular education; he appeals for financial assistance. These documents reflect the continued faith of ordinary citizens and refugees in Miss Fatima Jinnah’s charitable role. SCANNED BY: NATIONAL ARCHIVES OF PAKISTAN.
