Abstract: A government memorandum (1 Jan 1956) forwards a cheque of Rs. 320/6/7 from Pakistanis formerly in Haiphong to the Central Flood Relief Fund. The secretary of Madan Mohan Hindu Vidyamandir (Noakhali) writes to Miss Fatima Jinnah, detailing flood damage to the school (buildings, furniture, equipment, mosque) and requesting additional funds beyond the Rs. 900 already granted. Correspondence from the Regional Flood Relief Committee notes a Rs. 20 discrepancy in expenditure accounts.

Description: A memorandum from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1 January 1956) encloses a cheque of Rs. 320/6/7 donated by Pakistani nationals formerly living in Haiphong, to be credited to the Central Flood Relief Fund for East and West Pakistan. A series of letters from K.B. Nath, Secretary of Madan Mohan Hindu Vidyamandir (Chaumuhani, Noakhali), dated 8‑12 February 1956, thank the Regional Flood Relief Committee for a grant of Rs. 900, describe extensive flood damage to the school (buildings, mosque, furniture, library, science apparatus), and request further financial assistance to complete rehabilitation estimated at Rs. 5,255. Included are detailed damage descriptions and cost estimates (earth work, wall repairs, furniture, equipment). Finally, a letter from M. Raschid, Hony. Secretary of the Regional Flood Relief Committee (4 May 1956), points out a discrepancy between the reported total expenditure (Rs. 12,560) and the amount mentioned in a previous letter (Rs. 12,540), seeking confirmation.
