Description: Meeting agendas and notices (November 1957) show the Regional Flood Relief Committee, chaired by Mr. Justice Amiruddin Ahmed, considering matters such as audited accounts, relief to flood‑affected schools, a Rs. 60,000 grant for a maternity centre at Ulipur, and relief to a vagrants’ home at Chandpur. A separate customs issue arises: two cases of used old clothing brought by Mr. Mohd Hussain (B.P. Company, Bahrein) on 30 November 1954 are still uncleared. The Customs Preventive Department writes to Miss Jinnah (8 November 1957) as Chairman of the Central Relief Fund Committee. Clearing agents Fairways (Karachi) explain that they cleared the goods on a bond pending an exemption certificate; after repeated reminders, they face a duty demand of Rs. 805/10.
