Abstract: Committee records from the Quaid‑i‑Azam’s Relief Fund (mid‑1949) include a notice and agenda for the 30th Central Committee meeting (21 July 1949) covering blanket purchases, sanitation grants for Karachi refugee camps, resettlement of military and naval refugees in the Thal area, and other relief measures. Sub‑committee minutes detail the placement of orders for 50,000 blankets at rates between Rs. 13/12 and Rs. 14/8. Correspondence requests additional funds for camp sanitation and refugee clothing. An audit note on the Sind Provincial Committee’s accounts reveals serious irregularities, including lack of vouchers and personal bank accounts used for fund monies. Copies of all documents were sent to Miss Fatima Jinnah.
Description: The 30th meeting agenda lists 14 items, including confirmation of previous minutes, rejection of a cloth purchase, appointment of an acting secretary, and consideration of a Rs. 1 lakh grant for Karachi camp sanitation. A sub‑committee on blankets (11 June 1949) placed orders for 50,000 blankets with various suppliers at negotiated rates, and a follow‑up meeting (24 June) adjusted the distribution. Letters from the Army and Navy request reallocation of grants for refugee resettlement in the Thal area. An audit note (24 June 1949) exposes poor accounting practices in the Sind Provincial Committee – personal bank accounts, missing vouchers, and lack of proper receipts. All documents bear circulation lists that include Miss Fatima Jinnah. These records illustrate the administrative machinery of Pakistan’s largest relief fund and Miss Jinnah’s nominal oversight role.
