Abstract: A collection of documents from the Quaid‑i‑Azam’s Relief Fund (1952‑1953), with copies routinely sent to Miss Fatima Jinnah. Includes a request for a Rs. 1 lac grant to Lady Dufferin Hospital for refugee treatment (reduced to Rs. 30,000), notice and draft agenda for the 41st Central Committee meeting (4 September 1952) covering 25 items such as Sind Government reimbursement, blanket procurement, relief for cyclone victims in East Bengal, and artificial limbs for refugees. Also includes correspondence about office space in Variawa Building and warm clothing requirements for winter 1952‑53 (96,800 blankets requested).

Description: A 22 May 1952 circular from Honorary Secretary K.S. Islam circulates a U.O. note recommending a non‑recurring grant of Rs. 30,000 to Lady Dufferin Hospital for refugee treatment, forwarded to all members including Miss Fatima Jinnah. A notice of the 41st Central Committee meeting (28 August 1952) encloses a detailed agenda with 25 items: confirmation of minutes, Sind Government’s request for Rs. 50,000 for refugee relief, reimbursement for razais and cloth, malaria prevention, medical relief, Punjab’s blanket allocation (Rs. 2.5 lacs), artificial limbs for refugees, sanitation at Jinnah Camp, relief for cyclone victims in East Bengal (Rs. 10 lacs), grant for orphanages in Baluchistan, and rehabilitation of R.P.N. refugee families (Rs. 1 lac). Subsequent letters discuss the inability to import blankets, shifting to razai production, and a statement showing total warm clothing requirements of 96,800 blankets for winter 1952‑53 across all provinces. Correspondence about office space in Variawa Building shows a dispute with M/s Ferozsons over a room used as a godown. These documents illustrate the fund’s expansive relief operations and Miss Jinnah’s nominal oversight. SCANNED BY: NATIONAL ARCHIVES OF PAKISTAN.
